Since its founding in 2003, the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra has served as an important cradle for nurturing local talent. To celebrate the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s Golden Jubilee, our Youth Orchestra gathers former members for a one-time HKYCO Alumni Orchestra.
Time flies. Many of whom trained in the Youth Orchestra have grown into accomplished professional artists—two of them now full-time members of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. In this meaningful reunion, they not only rejoin the ensemble but also take on solo roles, demonstrating their outstanding artistry and attesting to the enduring vitality and continuous legacy of Chinese music.
Under conductor Rupert Woo Pak Tuen, the HKYCO Alumni Orchestra performs many classics along with a newly commissioned work. As old and new stand side by side, young musicians and their predecessors gather to celebrate the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s longstanding dedication to music education and cultural promotion.
