Since its establishment in 1999 by Artistic Director Yan Huichang, “Music from the Heart＂ has served as a dream workshop for emerging composers. Over the years, this programme has provided a valuable platform for countless artists through open calls for scores, professional performances and in-depth exploration, continuously injecting freshness and vitality into Chinese orchestral music.

This edition of “Music from the Heart＂ is conducted by Sun Peng with a call for scores open to composers from the Greater Bay Area, aiming to foster exchange and creative dialogue among musical talents far and wide. Under Sun’s baton, selected original works—each with its own distinctive style—come alive as vivid symphonic expressions.

The vitality of art lies not only in its presentation on stage but also in the resonance it finds with the audience. Audience members can participate and vote for their favourite composition. As new melodies fill the hall, promising young composers come face to face with their new public.
